Scott rebounds from a 19th place finish at Oxford to post his third 3rd place finish of the season.
After struggling at Oxford with an ill handling car the CP Motorsports team was excited to head home to Thunder Road
Speedbowl, a track that has brought the team much success in the past.
With the True Value Modified Series on hand there was great racing all day long. Right
away in practice the car was pretty good and the team was excited. Scott started 8th in the first heat race. After getting shuffled back to
10th Scott began to pick cars off one at a time. After a yellow for a couple of spun cars Scott worked his way on the outside into 3rd at the finish
of the race earning a +5 earning the outside pole for the feature.
Joey Pole started on the pole and jumped out to the lead early with Scott in tow. The car was just two tight to really challenge for the lead
Dave Pembroke worked his way by Scott and then went to work on the low side of Joey unable to complete the pass. Pembroke and Pole battled hard
for the lead until Joey slide off the backstretch on lap 82. Again the car was too tight for Scott to mount a serious challenge for the lead. He
then tried to fend off Brian Hoar for second. In the end Hoar would take second and Scott settled for third.
Third place was a great rebound from Oxford and the team reclaimed the point lead.
The tour now heads to Waterford Speedbowl where the team looks to defend their win from last year.
