off
5.16.10
Oxford Plains Speedway was host to the second stop on the
2010 ACT Tour on Sunday May 16th. Fifty three late
models were on hand to attempt to qualify for 33 spots.
After struggling all afternoon on Saturday and then again
on Sunday morning in practice the #89 Ouellette Plumbing and
Heating, Leahy Press, AC Sports car saw wholesale changes
before lining up 11th in the first heat race. For the
first part of the heat race Scott was boxed in behind Randy
Potter, Mark Hudson, and Eric Giguere. Finally able to
break free Scott moved up to 6th at the finish. Carrying
a +5 to Consolation race number two and starting 4th.
Scott hung on the outside in third at the begining of the race
before making his way to the lead and winning the consi and
earning the 3rd starting position for the feature.
At
the drop of the green Brian Hoar jumped to the lead from his
outside pole starting position. Scott dove to the bottom
under Travis Stearns to move into the second position.
For the next 54 laps Scott battled with Hoar, TJ Brackett, Tim
Brackett, and rookie Austin Theriault to stay in the top
five. The race was slowed by one caution on lap 54 and
then returned to green for the remainder of the race.
Scott was able to hold on to an ill handling car to bring home
7th place moving the team into second in points with their
second top 10 of the season.
Up next will be the previously rained out stop at Lee USA
Speedway on Friday June
11th.
